Today we co-teached, again, an English Language Arts lesson, which I was probably overly excited about! We did a modelled and guided/shared reading lesson with chapter 3 of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Raegyn and I started my each reading a page and making connections and wonders, then we picked names on popsicle sticks to read next. We continued with this for the entire chapter, which was a bit long. Next time, I would have students do a brain break during the chapter, finish the last few pages myself or ask a strong reader to read to speed things up. After, students wrote a paragraph about the skills they used while reading or listening to reading.
I think that this opportunity has given me more confidence and affirmation that I want to teach ELA in March for the 3-week block!
